Around the Web: Roland Dyens and James Taylor

Here are a couple of links from the around the web to satisfy your classical, jazz and steel string desires!

Two years ago we were very lucky to have Roland Dyens share a concert with us here at Trilogy and give the US premiere of his outstanding arrangements of the great Choro composer, Pixinguinha. He used the concert as a warm-up for his recording session with Dean Kamai at Guitar Solo, who released the album, entitled Naquele Tempo, last year on the GSP label. This is a fantastic record from start to finish so if you don't own it buy it here right now. Seriously! If you need some more swaying Acoustic Guitar Magazine has just put out an article on Dyens and Naquele Tempo by Teja Gerken and the online version is outfitted with video, sheetmusic, and Dyens explaining some of his techniques. If you have are one of the lucky ones who has heard John do his "thing" on steel string, you know that there is really just one man who plays James Taylor better than him; James Taylor. Via The Fretboard Journal and their great newsletter here is James taking us on a little tour of his guitar "vault." Check out that Olson parlor!!!

Happy Playing!
