We have some of the best teachers in Los Angeles that are also working musicians. Our instructors have studied with some of the nation's finest teachers themselves which include instructors at Loyola Marymount University, the University of Southern California, and the Musician's Institute.

Kelvin McKay-Hill

is a guitarist born and raised in Los Angeles, CA. He attended Loyola Marymount University and studied with Dr. Martha Masters where he received his B.A. in Classical Guitar Performance. He is trained in blues, rock, folk, and fingerstyle jazz in addition to his aforementioned training. Kelvin has also sang in various choirs and recorded for several artists local to the Los Angeles area. Along with his B.A. he holds degrees in liberal arts, traditional music, and commercial music. He also has certifications in Audio Engineering, Film Scoring, and Big Band Arranging.

is a solo guitarist mixing together classical technique with accessible songs forms and structures. His stage show is a well crafted blend of engaging music and interesting stories which have captivated audiences on both coasts.

Ryan began playing guitar at the age of thirteen. He attended Loyola Marymount University and graduated with degrees in classical guitar performance and recording arts. It was there that he began his studies with classical guitarist Martha Masters.

An active composer for over ten years, Ryan released his first record of ten original pieces for guitar entitled "ermita" in 2011. In 2012, he published the corresponding sheet music and tablature. These pieces employ classical guitar technique to explore the reaches of steel string and finger style guitar. A gifted melodist, Ryan also likes to experiment with gestures, textures, and rhythmic ideas in his compositions.

John StorieJohn Storie

has been playing professionally since age 13. Graduating from USC’s Studio/Jazz Guitar Department in 2006 (B.M. Guitar) and California Institute of the Arts in 2012 (M.F.A. Jazz Studies) John has been touring internationally with his guitar trio “New West Guitar Group”, Warner Bros. artist and star of ABC’s "Secret Life of the American Teenager", Renee Olstead and Concord Records artist Spencer Day. Most recently, New West released an album on Summit Records titled "Big City" which debuted at #20 on the JazzWeek charts and has been receiving airplay on NPR’s “All Things Considered”. During his career, John has shared the stage with Wynton Marsalis, Rosemary Clooney, Steve Miller, Ramsey Lewis, and Al Jarreau. A finalist in the 2005 Thelonious Monk International Jazz Competition, John has also earned performance awards from DownBeat Magazine, the ASCAP foundation, and the National Foundation for the Advancement of the Arts. John currently is based in Los Angeles, CA.
