Happy New Year! If your 2010 hasn't already kicked off with rollicking good times and great music then we are here to remedy that with the Trilogy Triangle's first concert of the year! The boys of American Primitive will be joining us on Saturday, January 23rd at 8:00pm.
Tickets are by reservation only and will be $10 cash-at-the-door.
American Primitive is a quartet of well-mannered gentlemen who hail
from vastly different musical backgrounds. Though comprised of
traditional bluegrass instrumentation (banjo, guitar, bass, & fiddle), their
amalgamation of country, samba, french cafe, bluegrass, and foot-tappin'
jazz is sure to satiate even the most selective musical palate.
Here's a little taste of what they do: "Well You Needn't"
We don't step outside of the box of our typical music too often, but when we do it's for the very specific reason of offering fun, intelligent, and interesting music that we know you, friends of Trilogy, will love! So make your reservations and give yourself the opportunity to discover some new music.
American Primitive are:
Zack Smith (Bass), a graduate of the Ethnomusicology program at UCLA, adds new world rhythm to the genre and a certain Mingus-esque power.
Paul Fuller (Banjo/Resonator Guitar), a graduate of the music school at CalArts, and former Topanga Banjo Contest winner, brings original compositions and fresh playing on his instrument of choice.
Corey Epstein (Guitar/Mandolin) was brought up playing bluegrass in Colorado. Since his move to the coast he has been amazing crowds with his energetic solos and rich sound.
Chris Stewart (Violin), the newest member of the group and a Kentucky native is currently attending CalArts. Chris' chops are unbelievable, with crisp and clear runs that take the band to a new level.
