Born in Bergamo, Italy in 1973, Daniele Chiesa has traveled the world to hone his craft as a luthier. His travels began in Cremona, where Daniele graduated as a “Maestro Liutaio” from the infamous Violin making school in 1998. He then proceeded to the United States to work with Kenny Hill in Santa Cruz and then Tom Ribbecke in Healdsburg but it was in Cordorba, Spain where he found his true style. It was there that he met and took a class from Paco Santiago Marin who revealed to him the traditions of Granada guitar building. Inspired by this tradition, Chiesa decided to move and open a shop in Granada, developing and refining his own instruments with the invaluable help of masters like Paco Santiago Marin, Antonio Marin and his nephew José Plazuelo, and Rolf Eichinger. Now living in the mountains of Andalucía, Daniele continues to develop the sound of his classical guitars by pursuing and developing new building techniques.
This 2009 guitar showcases Chiesa’s excellent eye for materials with it’s beautiful bear claw spruce top and a dramatic and symmetrical Ziricote back. The guitar has a creamy, warm tone with excellent balance and a comfortable playability.
